Hi,
Benjamin Satterthwaite opened as a photographer in Clitheroe in the 1870′s. I haven’t found any mention of him before 1874. He retired in 1918.
Hello,
Arthur Thawley was born in Thurgoland, Yorkshire (near Barnsley) in 1854. He was the son of a coal miner. He married Martha Barker in Leeds in 1877. In 1881 he was an engineman at a saw mill and in 1891 he’s first noted as a photographer. By 1901 he had a studio on Boer Lane, Leeds. He died in Leeds in 1930. (Martha Barker is my great-great-grandmothers sister)
Mick (Leeds)
